When we rely on people, things, or situations to make us happy, we give control of our happiness to those things.
Vedic Meditation is a simple mental technique shown to sustainably increase happiness from within.
Own your happiness.
There are two types of happiness…
a) Object-referral happiness is the happiness we feel when we acquire stuff, receive praise, or get our way. It’s determined by the ever-changing world of events, circumstances and opinions.
When we rely on these things to make us happy, we’re giving away all of our power and allowing the entire world to control us—like a flag waving in the breeze, subject to whichever direction the wind blows.
Happiness based on external circumstances is like icing on the cake.
b) Self-referral or baseline happiness is what you feel like on the inside. By definition, this feeling is in reference only to self, irrespective of the world around us, and can’t be undermined by changes in circumstances, events, or opinions.
When we’re established in baseline happiness, we are the entire flagpole, planted firmly in the soil of our immutable inner bliss, steadfast in the face of the winds of life and impervious to their changing directions.
Baseline happiness is the cake—the rest is just icing.

The Mission
Raise baseline happiness levels within the music community through teaching meditation.
Meditation that works. Concentration not required.
Unlike other meditation techniques which require focus and concentration, VM works with the natural rhythms of the mind, so it’s easy and effortless for everyone—even those who think they “can’t meditate.”
Vedic Meditation is practiced sitting comfortably while mentally thinking a personalized mantra in the same easy and effortless way we think thoughts.
Passed down for more than 5,000 years through an oral tradition of masters and assigned by teachers trained for thousands of hours, the correct mantra will be more charming to the mind than any thought, allowing the mind to transcend thoughts and quiet down into a deeply delightful supreme state of inner contentedness.
As the mind calms, the body follows, relaxing into a profound rest shown to be 2-5x deeper than sleep, dissolving deeply held stress and rebalancing natural happiness chemicals like dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin and endorphins—paving the way for happiness from within.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the world-famous meditation guru known for inspiring The Beatles’ White Album, predicted that just 1% of a population practicing would produce measurable improvements in quality of life for the whole population. This is called The Maharishi Effect.
His hypothesis has been validated in dozens of small communities around the world.
Why not the music industry?
The Problem
The music industry is suffering disproportionately to other industries, with levels of anxiety, depression, stress and suicide 50-66% higher in our industry and worsening every year.
BBC, The Guardian, The New York Times, Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, Dazed, Mixmag, Billboard, and more have covered this disturbing trend heavily.
50%
of musicians reported feeling down, depressed or hopeless at least several days in the last two weeks, compared to less than 25% of the adult population.

Change in the world starts with change within.
